Ever heard of the catchphrase ‘Speak Your Way to the Top’? Well you can now do so literally in the upcoming International Speech and Table Topics Contest 2012!

Choose to inspire and awe your audience with a well-crafted prepared speech, or challenge your wits in the table topics segment! Be the pick of the judges and work your way to the international stage!

The event will take place on the 21st February, Tuesday at YIH Training Room 2, from 7pm to 10pm.

Ever wondered what it would be like to lead and manage a club as large as NUS Toastmasters? Did you know that just a few years back it was on the verge of being closed down for good because of a lack of members? And what about taking on the challenge of leading it to greater heights?

District 80 is hosting a workshop entitled ‘Life Cycle of a Toastmasters Club’ to share with you the answers to the questions above. The workshop will be conducted by not one, not two but 3 DTMs and the Toastmaster of the day will be none other than our magical Immediate Past President Adela Goh!

This meeting is destined to be ENTHRALLING. A spectrum of exciting projects are lined up for you, ranging from Ice Breaker to Project 9: Persuade with Power. Apart from passionate speakers, we have dedicated evaluators to enhance your learning. Advanced Communicator Bronze(ACB) Coen Tan will join us as the Language Evaluator. And our beloved Wekie Tay, DTM will once again charm us with his evaluation.

In this coming week, NUS Toastmasters Club has lined up several interesting events! On Tuesday night, we  have our weekly Chapter Meeting at PGP Function Room 3 & 4. Do come down to listen to our club members giving their prepared speeches and also to join our Table Topics Session.

On Wednesday night, our club mentor, Distinguished Toastmaster Wekie Tay has a workshop titled: Communication Between Men & Women PGP Function Room 5. Be prepared to be entertained and also leave the workshop with tips on better communication skills!

On Thursday night, we will have our NUS TMC Installation Night held at Lounge @ NUS Staff Club, where our outgoing Exco will hand over to the incoming Exco.
